Preparation and Roasting
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Rinse the green beans and dry them thoroughly.
- Trim the stem ends of the green beans. If they're extra long, cut them in half.
- In a bowl, toss the green beans with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the green beans on a sheet pan in a single layer.
- Roast for 12 to 16 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through.
- Add parmesan cheese for the last 2 to 3 minutes so it melts and sticks.
- Finish with lemon juice and zest if desired.
Notes
These green beans are best served immediately, but leftovers can be reheated in a hot skillet or in the oven to maintain crispiness. Avoid using the microwave for best results.
